In depression . . . faith in deliverance, in ultimate restoration, is absent. The pain is unrelenting, and what makes the condition intolerable is the foreknowledge that no remedy will come -- not in a day, an hour, a month, or a minute. . . . It is hopelessness even more than pain that crushes the soul.

لا تبكي لأنها انتهت. ابتسامة لأن هذا ما حدث.

The tears fall, they're so easy to wipe off onto my sleeve, but how do I erase the stain from my heart?

I feel this is a concept I don't typically see; war style pieces. I'm going to go ahead and delve into what I see. The snow is used a great focal point on the hair and clothes and also as a blurred background; I feel this sets a great mood for this photo. The ensemble of the soldier looks old and outdated, which could bring past feelings and impacts to many people. The fact his eyes match his one earring I find is the most brilliant part of the picture, I'm not sure why. It shows the effort used in this, whether you meant it or not. The could also bring present day feelings as well, and that's what's so great about this piece; it can be interpreted in many ways.
The only issues I feel, possibly, is the fact it gets cut off so suddenly on the left, but depending on interpretation that might not be a problem (he may not be showing all of himself in battle). I honestly am not often attracted to photography in the way this piece attracted me. So unfortunately there is not much I myself would want to change. Excellent job capturing 1,000 + different possible feelings at once.

I view this piece and I see emotion in the subjects eyes, whether or not the emotion is fear, hatred, distrust, or just the fact that the human condition is survival, i see them all, interpret them all in an instant, the fact that he's adjusting the site on his rifle, either up to fire or down to stand down could make the piece go either way, the toil of emotionless battle, or the realization that its futile and worthless. I too, am also drawn to the earring matching the eye color. intentional or not, it draws the viewer to the eye color. He appears battle hardened and cold, but vigilant. It is to me, a moment for each person who views this piece to determine his motive. excellent work.

nice photo, and your comments on your picture are to me, recognizable. But I don't understand the gun at the picture?

This is a war style photo, where as your comment, to me, is not. I don't see a tormented soul on the photo. Only the eyes, I can see a tormented glimpse.  I see a soldier or a hunter?  And one from the past. Was it the intention to make a link to present situation and problems?

It is a technically well done photo, and one can interpret it in varies ways. And that, to me, is the biggest plus for this photo, and why i like it, even with the gun. I like photo's one has to think about, that make you think. Well, and this photo sure does that job very well!

This is amazing. The soldier's eyes are haunting and sad. This photograph makes me think of a lonely Russian soldier far from his home.

Good photography, seriously very nice. And with some moody poetry in the description. My only gripe is the Earing does not match with the rest of the photo.

Grazie my friend. It's actually a Self Portrait. I'm what you call a One man band. I'll take the photo, post process it and often times be the model for it aswell. Use of a remote shutter switch.

Your work sir, is some of the most awe inspiring I've ever seen, your sets, props, costumes, are all amazing, as well as you as the model. Just an epic in itself.
You should really source your quotes.

This is my favorite photo out of all of them. I wish more photographers were like you...well, from observign from what you've noted below to people you don't want to be credited too much. that's very humble of you. Which is something that you can't find too much in people.

And that expression on your face and everything....I have to watch you. What is your nationality because you don't look like an american....
MRBee30 Featured By Owner Oct 12, 2011
It's czechoslovakian (czech ropublic) My lineage is part that, croatian and lakota indian. It's an unusual backstory but I was born in Northumberland, UK. My parents moved to the USA when I was a child but that dosen't stop me vrom visiting czech and all the local countries.
Hanachino-Hime Featured By Owner Oct 12, 2011

I really like this shot. No promises on its completion, but would I be allowed to draw this? Of course, I'll show you when its done and give credit where credit is due. If so, then could I have a larger version? Doesn't necessarily have to be full-sized.

My goodness! You need to be famous for this shot alone my friend!!
Wow.. Everything is just wow. *thumbs upp*
MRBee30 Featured By Owner May 24, 2011
I don't want to be famous. I'm nothing special, of this I'm sure. I'm a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've treaded other with love and respect with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been more than enough. But I thank you though. All I wan't in life is a girl who I can relate with.
cheshire44 Featured By Owner May 24, 2011  Hobbyist
Well said, but you do have a talent man, Of this I am sure. ^^
A common man with common thoughts... Nothings wrong with that is there?
A man who shows respect, is therefore respected, thats something most
people lack. If anything, that is more appealing to the common folk
than any super famous person.. Just saying... & your welcome : )
(but you deserve to be famous, Haha)

WOW this photo reminds me on this cool but sad action films that are not on our time you know??
Good job ;)

History is a bit of a commodity with me. My father was intrigued by the Civel war of our time. Confederate soldiers stood along side the French army against an evil enemy. That enemy evolved into todays Goverment of America. Sti'll evil, even after 200 years. Medieval times and the Crusades are my favorite subject though.

Courage does not always have a loud voice...

Sometimes it is the quiet voice that whispers into the soaked pillow..

..."I will try again tomorrow"...
