Some say that the age of chivalry is past, that the spirit of romance is dead. The age of chivalry is never past, so long as there is a wrong left unredressed on earth. So strong a thing, and of such hardihood, and so costly in the learning, that a wicked man or low dare not undertake it... Whoso would enjoy high honor first must suitably display that he has well been schooled to such arts... More than a code of manners in war and love, Chivalry was a moral system, governing the whole of noble life...

Chivalry is hardly dead. It's codes have just changed severly over the centuries. Instead of might for right, it is now right for might. Instead of woeing fair maidens, men woe themselves and/or their money. Instead of respect for king and country, its now disrespect for king and country. Instead of the love to live, people live to love. Instead of loving and helping ones family, we abandon them for personal selfish needs. These are the new codes of chivalry that exist today, sad to say.
