He who dies a thousand deaths meets the final hour with the calmness of one who approaches a well remembered door. For Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live. _____________________________

"Slight troopers march against the grain of what seems like the inevitable. They march in the ranks of ghosts. Remember us. Remember why we fight, Remember what we died for." - Quote from this historical letter my father gave me. Of a boy who died shortly after sending this letter off to his family. Dated and signed: Henry Heal - 1862.
In your Thumb nails at first Glance I thought this maybe a still of of Harry or James Potter but the tin type of the 50's Pin up Girl and the Colt says no, its too good to photoshop out, maybe I will check back for re- set
Responding again, because I'm obsessed with notstalgic-type things! I really love the setup for this photo. The only thing that throws me off is the pose of the woman in the portrait which seems a bit more 1950s than 1860s. But I just don't care all too much, because I generally love it!
History is a bit of a commodity with me. My father was intrigued by the Civel war of our time. Confederate soldiers stood along side the French army against an evil enemy. That enemy evolved into todays Goverment of America. Sti'll evil, even after 200 years. Medieval times and the Crusades are my favorite subject though. I do agree with you. My father called me out on it right away too. I thought it added a spark of emotion to the image compaired to a faceless person.
